Denis Mooney is Deputy Director of TRC Media based in Glasgow.

Denis manages the Series Producer Programme which is a BBC funded training initiative run and managed by TRC.

Denis joined TRC (at that time The Research Centre) at the beginning of May 2002 having spent 16 years at Scottish Television.

Denis started work at Scottish as a producer in 1986 and subsequently held various senior management roles covering most areas of the station’s output.

Denis launched, presented and for many years produced the award-winning social action series "Scottish Action" which became one of Scotland’s longest running programmes. He was responsible for the company's social action programme strategy and community/multicultural relations.

Prior to arriving at Scottish Denis spent three years with Granada Television in Manchester and Liverpool. He worked on a range of programming for both regional and network transmission.

For ten years prior to his time at Granada Denis worked in social work with young offenders.

A native of Greenock, Denis now lives in Derbyshire. He is married with three children.
