Ed Pugh

Edward Pugh is a Media Consultant and has a long background in the TV industry. Currently he is Series Producer of ‘House of Anubis’, a 90 episode x 12 minute drama series produced by Lime Pictures in Liverpool for Nickelodeon. On this committee over the last few years he has had a leading creative role as joint creative director. In the past he has chaired sessions at the conference on Drama and Entertainment as well as producing their ‘Next Generation’ event for the last three years. He also sits on committees for RTS NW (and formerly NE) and Cultural Diversity Network North.

Edward Pugh started in the TV industry in London as a runner and quickly progressed to Production Management and Floor Manager work, before becoming a Director on Jackanory in 1981. He directed  Grange Hill and then produced and directed two series of the comedy drama Jossy’s Giants, set in NW.  Whilst in Manchester, he applied and became Executive Producer of BBC Children’s programmes and expanded the unit to produce 100 hours of programmes. He joined Granada Television in 1991 and was Executive.

Producer and sometimes Producer on 5 drama series. In 1994, he joined BBC Scotland to head up the newly established Children’s area.  Having achieved up to 10 series and 160 hours of varied programming, he left at the end of 1998 to set up the Manchester spin off of London Indie, Talent TV. He joined Byker Grove in February 2002 as Series Producer and produced 80 episodes of the top rated Children’s BBC drama. After that he became Talent Base Manager at screen agency Northwest Vision and Media for two years.
