Jason Legget joined Peel Media from the Northwest Regional Development Agency having spent three years supporting the development of MediaCityUK both in the UK and overseas. He was responsible for the development and roll-out of the £9m NorthernNET media network across the North of England. His previous roles include Principal Consultant for Bandwidth Media Ltd, Director of Digital Media at Trinity Mirror Plc and Head of Business Marketing for Comcast Teesside.

MediaCityUK is a purpose-built community for the creative and digital industries, located on a waterside site in Salford Quays, Manchester. Owned and managed by Peel Media, Phase 1 of MediaCityUK (due to open in 2011) covers more than 36 acres, with the potential to develop up to 200 acres in the future. Peel Media’s ultimate vision is for MediaCityUK to become a place for everyone working in the creative and digital sectors – from TV production to publishing, gaming to software development – so 2011 is the start of a long-term journey which will see MediaCityUK grow gradually over time.
