The Nations and Regions Media Conference partnered with Ofcom for a stimulating, packed-out event exploring the future of local media on 22nd September 2009.
Chaired by Steve Hewlett and attended by leading players from across the media the event saw the launch of Ofcom’s review of local and regional media.
Following a keynote from Ofcom’s Stewart Purvis delegates and an expert panel – comprising Alex Connock (Ten Alps), John Angeli (PA), Ruth Spratt (GMG), Michael Jermey (ITV plc) and Helen Thomas (BBC) – engaged in a lively debate on the future of regional television news and the proposed local news consortia.
