Television Nations & Regions
The Television from the Nations and Regions Conference is a unique national event now approaching its fourteenth year. It is a one- day conference, which in 2007 will be held as usual at the Lowry Centre at Salford Quays. The site is next door and overlooks the proposed site for the new BBC and the new Salford Media City.

The intention of the Conference is to start each year with a positive look at broadcasting outside London.
Michael Grade, Chairman of the BBC, will open the Conference. ( to be confirmed)
For 2007 planned sessions include the effect of the proposed BBC move of Five Live, Children’s BBC , Sport and New Media to Salford on all the nations and regions , and the impact of new media opportunities on production outside London.
During the life of the Conference, virtually every senior figure in UK broadcasting has appeared on the platform. It fills a unique niche in the broadcasting calendar and has become part of the fabric of debate about the future of British broadcasting. Further information about the 2006 Conference is on the website
The aim of the Conference is to provide a national forum to explore and discuss the strengths of broadcasting and production in the Nations and Regions. The day is also a celebration of the achievements of the Nations and Regions and provides a host of opportunities for delegates.
It remains the only national event with this focus. Last year for the second year running it attracted 400 delegates from across the industry. There were 9 sessions and 26 speakers.
