Television from the Nations and Regions

Some of the UK television industry’s biggest names head the line up for this year’s Salford Conference on Television from the Nations and Regions. Taking place at the Lowry Centre, it will overlook the proposed site for the new BBC and the new Salford Media City.

Now in its 14th year, the Salford Conference is the most important forum to discuss television from a non-metropolitan perspective.

The 2007 Conference, to be held on 11 January 2007 at the Lowry Centre, Salford Quays, will focus on the opportunities presented by the new digital world for the industry outside London. It will look at the effect on the rest of the country of the BBC’s proposed move to Salford, and as the commercial TV industry changes at bewildering speed it will look at the future of ITV in the Nations and Regions. There will be discussions on the new platforms and interactive media and a chance to meet the experts, The Conference will showcase new platforms and technologies, offer a scriptwriters’ master class, and provide an opportunity over lunch to “Speed Date the Commissioners!”

With over 400 delegates attending, Salford will also give its usual exclusive opportunities to network, to make contacts, to ask relevant questions, and to learn more.

Can you really afford not to be there?

The Salford Conference was established in 1993 by the International Media Centre at Salford University. Since then, it has become a vital part of the debate about the future of British Broadcasting. Over the years  every senior figure in UK broadcasting has appeared on the Conference  platform. The Conference provides a national forum to explore, discuss, and celebrate broadcasting and production in the Nations and Regions from a non metropolitan perspective.

The Salford Conference is the only major television event with this focus. Last year for the second year running it attracted 400 delegates from across the industry.

We hope to see you there.
